Individual Counseling:
Counseling provides an opportunity for individuals to learn to make better
decisions, improve relationships, develop increased confidence, overcome
barriers to personal effectiveness and acquire a greater awareness and
appreciation of their needs and the needs of others. Interacting
with a counselor in an individual or group session, a client is helped to
explore and express feeling, examine beliefs and ways of thinking about
the world, reflect on patterns of behavior and work toward making healthy
changes.
Community Restitution Service
Placement and Tracking:
ACC will assist an individual in
securing appropriate community service placement and report back to the
court and/or referring agency the status and compliance of an individuals
service obligation.
Domestic Violence
Treatment/Peace Program:
Typically, a range of 26 to 52 sessions is assigned by a screener or
referring agency based on the severity and frequency of incidents/offenses
involving physical or psychological abuse. Emphasis of treatment
includes a detailed focus on patterns and cycles of abusive behavior as
well as beliefs and actions pertaining to the use of power and control in
relationships. New skills are learned and practiced including
identifying triggers and inappropriate behaviors, use of time-outs,
creating a plan for self-control, improved communication and
decision-making skills, non-violent conflict resolution and relaxation
techniques.
